Cramer Systems and Cisco Systems are working on one of the most advanced and ambitious DSL rollout projects for Dutch communications service provider BBned. By the end of 2001, BBned expects to have more than 50% of the central offices connected with its network.

“BBned is rolling out one of the most advanced DSL solutions available to the enterprise customer today,” said Todd Abbot, vice president of Cisco EMEA service providers. “Combining Cisco’s ADSL and G.SHDSL solutions with the DSL network allows BBned to offer new asymmetric and symmetric bandwidth options that match the managed IP and ATM business class services their customers rely on."

Cramer Dimension is combining Cisco IP technology and KPMG Consulting solutions integration expertise, to provide one of the most advanced provisioning systems in Europe. This system will dramatically reduce the time it takes to order and provision a new DSL service.

The major benefit to BBned is the introduction of a near zero-touch provisioning model, dramatically reducing the overhead required to operate such an advanced network.

The whole solution for the BBned network was delivered in under 100 days, making this one of the most aggressive national DSL deployments anywhere in Europe.

BBned, focused purely on broadband services for the Dutch national market, plans to have its network fully operational before the end of this year.
