CSC and AMS sign multimillion IT outsourcing deal

Computer Sciences Corporation and Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS) have entered a multimillion-dollar, six-year IT outsourcing agreement that will enable a significant reduction in costs for AMS’s UK operations. All AMS IT services staff within the UK have transferred to CSC.

CSC is to manage desktop computing, help desks, midrange services, application management, procurement and LAN network services. It will also provide professional services for the implementation of SAP across AMS’s UK operations.

David Singleton, chief executive officerof AMS, said: “This partnership enables AMS to reduce the baseline cost of IT and will improve the delivery of service. It will also bring common standards to the business and facilitate IT integration through CSC.”
