Five independent firms in India and one headquartered in Mexico now augment Computer Sciences Corporation offshore operations in Australia, Canada, India, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa.
The firms are Softtek in Mexico and HCL, Cognizant Technologies, Satyam, LTITL and Infotech in India.
“As client demand for superior results at lower costs continues to skyrocket, increased focus on our global offshore capability has become very important,” said CSC president and chief operating officer Pete Boykin.
“The market is definitely strong and growing,” said Kate Rouse, manager of the company’s global offshore office. “According to some industry estimates, the offshore market is expected to grow by approximately 30% per year during the next few years.”
The new agreements with the third-party technology providers, combined with existing CSC locations, give it access to approximately 20,000 IT experts. Their capabilities include enterprise resource planning for SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft; client-server, mainframe legacy and e-business systems; infrastructure management services; and business process outsourcing.
