The news from Iowa is that the Fiserv NDP unit is changing its name, moving into a new building, and offering new services for the insurance industry. Fiserv Life Insurance Solutions (FLIS) is the new name of the computer software, services and outsourcing provider serving the needs of the life, annuity and health insurance industries.

Tony Perdichezzi, president of FLIS, said the new name signified the organization’s offerings to the life, annuity and health insurance industry.

”Our role in the insurance industry is not, however, limited to licensing and implementing software, and technology outsourcing,” Perdichezzi said. “We provide an entire range of technology solutions, including Web-based electronic application submission, imaging and document management, data exchanges with enterprise data warehouses, and knowledge management systems. Technology requirements vary from company to company, and we create solutions to meet these needs.”

The new building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is nearly 50% larger than the previous one. It houses a world-class data center with advanced security, fire protection and communication technologies that are at the heart of the outsourcing and ASP offerings provided by the company.

Fiserv serves more than 10,000 financial services providers worldwide, including banks, broker-dealers, credit unions, financial planners, investment advisers, insurance companies, mortgage banks and savings institutions. Its headquarters are in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
