Global alliance means an end to lost emails and corrupted mailboxes

A global alliance agreement between Sendmail and means users will be able to recover individual “lost” messages and corrupted mailboxes.

“This is a great opportunity for us to develop a strong sales and marketing relationship with Sendmail and its international sales channels,” said chief executive Peter Winder.

The need to manage the transmission and retention of email messages has been highlighted in recent high profile court cases. MailStore, which works seamlessly with the Sendmail Switch family, will allow Sendmail’s customers to manage their email over time.”

MailStore will also allow administrators to have firm control over the email environment. Messages, which need to be retained for legal, regulatory or other reasons, can be held in its database in encrypted form for as long as required.

Different classes or types of messages can be managed in different ways in the archive, including being held in such a way that a court of law will accept a message retrieved from the archive as legally admissible. At the end of a set retention period messages will be automatically deleted from the archive, if required.

By using MailStore with MTAs from Sendmail, administrators can now improve the overall management, performance and integrity of email in an organisation. MailStore can also be deployed by ISPs and ASPs as a service offering over the Internet.

“The partnership between Sendmail and will advance the evolution of Internet mail as a critical tool for conducting business,” said Greg Olson, CEO of Sendmail.
