Following what Intrinsic claimed was an intensely competitive 3-way pitch, the UK-based campaign management company has progressed its pan-European expansion through its appointment by German, British and Norwegian telecoms joint venture - VIAG Interkom.

In a deal worth $1.6 million (£1 million) over 5 years, Intrinsic will support VIAG Interkom’s campaign management activity in Germany, focusing primarily on Interkom’s mobile clients. Intrinsic’s key role is to establish one-to-one marketing functionality through customer acquisition, loyalty and retention programmes, using its comprehensive campaign management software application and expert consultancy.

"With Intrinsic, we have bought the best software available in the market today," claims Christian Bächer, VIAG Interkom’s Specialist Segment Marketing. "Not only do they provide us with one of the best software packages on offer, but they also bring a team of experts to the party whose problem-solving attitude and relevant industry experience is outstanding."

Intrinsic’s Chairman Shaun Doyle adds: "Intrinsic triumphed through both its software and its people. Since our inception in 1993 we have always viewed our business from a European perspective to ensure that our approach - both in terms of our consultancy services and our software - is culturally and commercially appropriate. For us it has never been a question of simply selling our software irrespective of geography.

"With this springboard into Germany, our pan-European expansion is fully underway, consolidating Intrinsic’s position as one of Europe’s leading direct marketing companies."
