KnowledgePool has acquired the corporate career portal (CCP) business of WorkLife Solutions, one of America’s leading application service providers of integrated career management and human resource development web sites.

WorkLife’s CCP business designs, develops, installs and manages corporate skills and career development tools for clients such as AT&T, GTE, Unisys, Pitney Bowes and SmithKline Beecham. It provides web-enabled diagnostic tools to help corporations identify the skills required for each of the roles within their company. Existing skills can then be mapped against a benchmark, gaps identified and solutions applied.

Paul Butler, chief executive officer at KnowledgePool said: “This acquisition brings to KnowledgePool a significant new service with which to diagnose and manage the changing needs of major corporations and help them plan the development of their businesses.”

Dr Chani Pangali, president of WorkLife said: “We are delighted with KnowledgePool’s acquisition of WorkLife’s corporate career portal business. Their extensive experience in the delivery of learning and comprehensive training portfolio nicely complements our offering of diagnostic learning tools. Also, KnowledgePool’s global capability enables our clients to plan on worldwide deployment of the merged applications.”

KnowledgePool has training operations in the UK, Ireland, France, Finland and Portugal and a joint venture company with Fujitsu in the USA. Its online mentors are located in the UK, Singapore and the USA.

The company has clients in the retail, financial services, pharmaceutical, chemical and technology industries together with government departments. KnowledgePool has strategic relationships with Microsoft, NETg and the British Computer Society.
