Lombardo brings new depth to distance learning

Life Instructors, a unit of Fiserv, has appointed William Lombardo vice president of marketing and sales. Life Instructors specializes in technology-assisted training and distance learning, and has 16 years’ experience in the insurance and financial services industries.

“Bill will provide new depth to our management team,” said president John Sullivan. “His experience and expertise will provide our distribution system with a foundation that hasn’t been there up until now.”

Before becoming vice president of Financial Services with another e-learning company, Lombardo held senior management positions at The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, the nation’s oldest non-traditional provider of distance education for the financial services.

During eight years as the college’s vice president of Marketing and Communications, Lombardo was instrumental in establishing the college’s Center for Distance Learning Technology.

“Joining Life Instructors gives me the opportunity to use my experience to build on their successful track record in developing company-specific online virtual universities,” said Lombardo. “We can, through evolving technology, help companies to improve the management of their learning and compliance programs, leading to a real impact on performance.”

Lombardo earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio; and an MBA from Syracuse University.

Life Instructors is a subsidiary of Fiserv, an independent provider of integrated data processing and information management systems to the financial industry.
