UK-based Mediasurface, an integrated e-business solutions supplier, has appointed a Europe, Middle East and Africa president.

Alan Laing joins Mediasurface from Oracle where he spent 12 years, ultimately as EMEA vice president of operations, responsible for managing its Internet sales division with annual revenues in excess of $450 million.

Prior to his time at Oracle, Laing spent five years with Digital Corporation and several years as a lawyer in a private practice in Edinburgh. He has an honours degree in law from the University of Edinburgh.

“Mediasurface has massive potential,” said Laing. “A key factor in our expansion will be establishing a far-reaching network across the EMEA region and this will be my main focus.”

Mediasurface expects revenues to grow from $2.9 million to $11.6 million in this financial year. It has grown from 40 to 220 people in the last year and has UK offices in London, Bracknell, Manchester and Glasgow, and in France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, and the US.
