Modem Media to implement Philips’ consumer Internet strategy

Significantly expanding their existing relationship, Royal Philips Electronics of The Netherlands has selected Modem Media as a global partner to create global B2C and B2B functionality with content management based on a common architecture.

“In the six months since we first began working with Modem Media, they have proven to be instrumental in supporting our Internet and eBusiness strategies,” said Ueli Morant, senior vice president of marketing and eBusiness, Philips Consumer Electronics. “Expanding on that relationship and selecting them as a worldwide strategic partner was an obvious choice.”

As part of the relationship, Modem Media will build the B2C and B2B web infrastructure for Philips Consumer Electronics and Philips Domestic Appliances & Personal Care.

B2B will enable Philips to significantly enhance service performance and efficiency with retail partners, while also creating a more convenient and productive shopping experience for the consumer.

“We want to strengthen our cooperation with our retail partners,” said David Humphrey, vice president of eCommerce and relationship marketing, Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care. “To do that we must have the flexibility to meet the needs of a great variety of retailers while respecting the consumer’s desire for more ways to shop.”

The development of a seamless overall web presence for Philips’ two divisions, with information architecture rooted to the corporate recently redesigned website, will bring unparalleled capability in personalized CRM, consumer shopping and retailer service and support. The new web platform will be globally scalable for the two divisions. The robust content management solution will allow Philips’ business teams in more than 40 countries to strategically manage the new web channel.
