NCR and TRM have announced a strategic partnership aimed at the booming convenience ATM markets in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
TRM will exclusively deploy NCR’s MCD ATMs and use NCR’s global distribution. And the first multimillion-dollar order under the partnership is for 1,500 MCD ATMs across convenience locations in the United Kingdom. The deal follows TRM’s purchase of 1,000 NCR ATMs in September 1999.
“This partnership will enable both companies to build on our success in the US and explore new opportunities, initially in Europe,” said Fred Stockton, TRM president. “The huge demand for convenience ATMs in the US is now being replicated in the UK. Within three years I predict there will be 50,000 ATMs in the UK.”
TRM, which sets up the ATM and manages the installations and cash delivery, plans to deploy 2,000 NCR ATMs in the UK within a year. The corporation owns over 37,000 SmartATMs and CopyCenters in retail locations.
