America Online has announced the appointment of Kimberly Till as senior vice president of International Operations and general manager for AOL International.
Till joins president Michael Lynton and senior vice president Jerry Sokol to help oversee AOL International’s services in 16 countries and eight languages – including those recently launched in Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. She will also optimize operations in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
She joins AOL International from Sony, where she was senior vice president of Strategic Planning & Marketing. She served on the board of Sony Online Entertainment and oversaw the redesign of Sony.com, Sony’s corporate web site in the US.
Till spent five years with Disney in Europe, most recently as the European head of Marketing and Operations for Disney Interactive Europe, based in Paris, France. She spent three years at Euro Disney as head of business development during the turnaround phase, and as head of the reservations operations. She also worked as a strategy consultant at Bain and Company in London for several years, advising clients on corporate strategies in Europe.
In 199l, Till was selected as one of twelve fellows for the highly competitive White House Fellowship program under which individuals work in the executive office of the president or in an executive branch department of the US government for one year. She served as a Special Assistant to the former US Trade Representative and Secretary of Agriculture on international trade matters, and as a special assistant to the Director of the FBI. Early in her career, she was one of 15 young Henry Luce Scholars and spent her fellowship year in Tokyo, Japan, where she worked on trade and investment projects.

Till received an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a JD from Duke University Law School, and a BA in History from the University of Alabama. Till practiced corporate and securities and international trade law in Washington, DC. She will be based at AOL’s offices in New York City.
