Norkom Technologies’ president and CEO Paul Kerley has been named Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2000 at the awards ceremony of the awards sponsored by Ernst & Young/Citibank in association with Business & Finance.
“I’m absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award,” Kerley. “There are never any ordinary days at Norkom, but this year has had quite a few exceptional ones so far. In May Norkom won the Best Internet & Wireless Company of the Year award, and now we have another memorable day.”
Announcing the winners, the judging panel said that Kerley was chosen as this year’s winner because he exemplified the start-up process at its best, showing innovation, strong self-belief, courage and independence in his management of Norkom Technologies.
The awards are open to nominees from the 32 counties, and celebrate the achievements of outstanding individuals who head dynamic businesses. They are endorsed by Enterprise Ireland and IDB Northern Ireland.
Previous winners of the awards include Patrick Campbell, Campbell Bewley Group; Ken Coldrick, IFS; Moya Doherty/John McColgan, Riverdance; Malachy McCloskey, Boyne Valley; Cyril McGuire, Trintech Group; Denis O’Brien, Esat Telecom and Patrick Shiel, Flexicom.
