A US bank believes a new web-based cash management product will boost its commercial business.

First National Bank, based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, recently implemented the Fiserv CBS eCash management system, a browser-based solution that enables a bank’s commercial customers to manage their cash.

Customers have access to account balances, outstanding checks and paid checks. They also can pay federal taxes, place stop payments on checks, initiate wire transfers, create ACH files, send e-mail, and request coin and currency orders.

“We feel the system gives us an advantage building commercial relationships,” said Jon Hendry, First National Bank IT manager. “Larger commercial clients like the idea of not having to support another piece of software.”

First National, with more than $500 million in assets, services customers through nine locations across North Dakota. As the bank considered how to enhance this support, First National looked for an easy-to-install, easy-to-use system.

“As the beta site client, we were impressed with the ease and success of the initial implementation,” Hendry said. “We were up and running within a week.”
