Novell has launched GroupWise Wireless to provide wireless access to messaging, calendaring, tasks and address books.

“The market for wireless technology is experiencing exponential growth,” said Maurene Caplan Grey, senior research analyst for Gartner. “Research indicates that by 2004, at least 50 percent of Fortune 1000 enterprises will commit 15 percent of network service spending to wireless voice and data solutions.”

“GroupWise Wireless is playing a strategic role in the development of our Net infrastructure,” said Chris Duffy, system engineer for Rockford Corporation. “Almost all our sales force works remotely, which makes it very difficult for them to respond to important messages. GroupWise Wireless allows the team to quickly respond to customers.”

Using a wireless device, they can:
• List and open all item types (messages, appointments, tasks, and notes)
• Change folders
• Send, reply to, forward and delete all item types
• Accept, decline, and delegate appointments, tasks, and notes
• Mark tasks completed
• Search address books
• Search for documents and view property information.
