A UK law firm has set up a web site to provide legal advice for new media and e-commerce businesses.
The new service launched this month by Masons, a legal firm which advises on the opportunities and perceived legal threats of doing business in the new economy.
The Out-law.com site provides down-to-earth advice for these high growth businesses. However, rather than presenting information by obscure legal topics which is the norm for many law firm web sites, information is presented in the form of "how to…" guides based on the user’s business type.
But, Out-law.com is not just about legal information. Its news section, available by e-mail, will be updated daily and, in a first for a legal website, WAP technology will be used to deliver e-commerce and new media legal news direct to mobile phones and PDAs.
The site is designed to be fun as well as informative - if all the legal information on the site proves too much, visitors can relax by zapping lawyers, venture capitalists and accountants, but be careful to avoid the pizza delivery boy!
