Chris Hill has been appointed EMEA marketing director at CRM vendor, Onyx Software. Hill joins from Remedy, recently acquired by Peregrine Systems, where he held the same position.
During his time at the company, he led a marketing drive to target board-level customers, resulting in a tenfold increase in the average EMEA deal value.
“We've been searching for someone of Chris' calibre to fill the marketing director vacancy for some time,” said Dennis Allan, Onyx vice-president and general manager of European operations. “He has a combination of commercial and marketing experience, mainly in the CRM industry.”
Hill will spearhead marketing campaigns encompassing public relations, new business development, customer marketing, interactive marketing, direct mail and events. The company's partners across the EMEA region, include big six consultancies, systems integrators and ASPs.
Hill has over 20 years' experience of marketing and management in IT. Prior to joining Remedy, he was UK managing director at CRM analytics vendor, Broadbase Software. He grew the business significantly by creating a strong channel through partnerships with Clarify, Broadvision and Vantive.
“My experience has taught me that most CRM vendors are notoriously poor at serving their own clients,” said Chris Hill. “At a time when many companies are fighting to stay afloat, let alone grow their client base, happy customers speak far louder than good marketing, however slick it is. I am a great believer in this philosophy and from what I've seen so far, this is in keeping with Onyx's approach.”
