In its first foray into the Asia-Pacific market, Recognition Systems this week announced that Standard Chartered Bank has licenced its flagship customer experience management software Protagona.
Standard Chartered, an international bank focusing on Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, has 500 offices in more than 50 countries.
“We’re moving away from product-centred marketing to focus on the customer,” said Steven Parker, head of Customer Information at Standard Chartered. “Protagona’s integration of behaviour modelling with campaign management was a key reason we chose this solution,” he added.
He also said the bank anticipates expanding its Internet presence in the future, and Protagona’s e-mail capability would complement those efforts.
Protagona will be implemented at Standard Charter banks in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. As part of the deal, Recognition Systems Group, headquartered in Birmingham, UK, is assisting the transition from a competitive system.
Standard Chartered Bank has been in operation in Hong Kong for 140 years. It opened its first Hong Kong branch in 1859, and currently has almost 80 branches and 4,700 employees in the territory. Standard Chartered is one of the longest established banks in Hong Kong and one of the three note-issuing banks.
