Sainsbury's Chooses NCR for Complete CRM Solution

Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced that Sainsbury’s Supermarkets has decided to replace its existing Oracle data warehouse with a 7TB NCR Teradata system which will support the implementation of NCR’s new Teradata Customer Relationship Managament (CRM) Solution Version 4. The Teradata CRM Solution and data warehouse will enable Sainsbury’s to drive more targeted and personalised communications and, ultimately, improve decision making throughout the business.

Working in partnership with Accenture, recently awarded the contract to outsource and re-platform the retailer’s IT infrastructure, Sainsbury’s selected the Teradata solution after a thorough evaluation against a number of alternative offerings. The data warehouse and CRM solution will be rolled out, in conjunction with Accenture, over the next eighteen months at Accenture’s and Sainsbury’s jointly branded IT centre in London.
