Siebel Systems and American Management Systems have announced the extension of their alliance to include joint marketing, collaborative selling and support, and joint development of comprehensive eBusiness solutions specifically designed for the public sector. By teaming Siebel eBusiness Applications with AMS public sector experience and services, the two companies hope to quickly deliver cost-effective and flexible solutions that will enable public sector organizations to improve their performance and customer satisfaction.

Under the agreement, each company will dedicate engineering, product marketing and quality assurance teams to manage the integration, certification and organization of Siebel eBusiness Applications and AMS financial management and procurement solutions, including ADVANTAGETM, Momentumâ and Procurement Desktopâ. The two companies will also pursue co-development opportunities in the areas of state tax revenue departments, departments of motor vehicles, human services and defense agencies, and eCommerce in government. The firms will jointly develop replicable solutions for common government functions such as constituent services, and licensing and registration.
To deliver eBusiness software and services for the public sector, AMS is establishing a dedicated global Siebel practice spanning international, federal, defense, state and local markets. It is expected that approximately 1,000 AMS public sector consultants and sales professionals will be trained on Siebel eBusiness Applications over the next two years and will acquire the unique ability to market and deliver a comprehensive, tightly integrated solution. Siebel Systems' public sector sales organization will also be trained on AMS solutions, with the intension of ensuring a skilled and collaborative team focused on customer satisfaction.

Prospective customers will be able to visit the AMS Solutions Centers that will highlight Siebel's customer deployments and eBusiness industry best practices.
