Siebel Systems has clinched a deal to supply sales and call centre software to the Los Angeles based Farmers Insurance Group.
The deal means that Siebel's Insurance software will be going live across more than 6000 call centre reps and field agents in 34 states.
With more than 14 million customers across the United States, Farmers ranks as the US's third-largest auto and home insurance company.
The new software deal will give agents instant access to policy information and claims histories.
Farmers' chief information officer Cecilia Claudio said the new Siebel system would replace the company's present unwieldy claims process.
"Currently our insurance claims process is very labour intensive, with many of the records written by hand," said Claudio.
"Siebel Insurance will allow us to move our claims business from a primarily event-driven paper process to an innovative and integrated end-to-end electronic system that will improve both agent productivity and customer satisfaction."
