SPSS has announced the completion of an OEM agreement with Hyperion where SPSS will provide Hyperion with forecasting technologies to extend the analytical power of Hyperion Essbase OLAP Server.
Under the agreement, SPSS will integrate its recently released DecisionTime and Whatif? forecasting products with Hyperion Essbase, a cross-platform open OLAP server, with the aim of enabling customers to improve the effectiveness of enterprise-wide business forecasting. This expanded partnership is expected to allow Hyperion customers to combine the power of Hyperion Essbase to derive sophisticated business metrics with interactive forecasting of future performance using the SPSS products.
"This expanded partnership offers a significant opportunity for both companies. By integrating the robust analytics of SPSS' unique, interactive forecasting technology and Hyperion Essbase, users gain a scalable and open platform that is ideal for the deployment of enterprise-wide analytic applications. Users can now have an integrated view of business performance and forecasts of the future. They will also be able to change their business assumptions and reforecast with the push of a button", said Jack Noonan, SPSS CEO.
"The expansion of our agreement with SPSS reinforces Hyperion's commitment to helping customers better understand and optimize their business," said Stephen Imbler, president and COO of Hyperion. "Hyperion continues to enhance the market-leading Hyperion Essbase OLAP Server by teaming with partners such as SPSS, the leader in data mining and, in particular, forecasting. This is a compelling approach for extending sophisticated, deployable forecasting capabilities to Hyperion Essbase customers."
