Sybase and Actional have formed a strategic partnership to combine SAP R/3 with non-SAP applications, allowing users to interface with disparate applications from any connection point.
By using Actional Control Broker, web applications built on Sybase EAServer can now directly interface with back-office SAP R/3 applications. The combination empowers companies to leverage existing investments - in not only the applications themselves, but also in the employees’ knowledge of those applications.
“The two products allow integration teams to view business functions in all connected systems,” said John Orcutt, CEO of Actional.
EAServer provides complete support for J2EE technologies and virtually any type of client including CORBA, XML, HTML, DHTML, any ActiveX client, C and C++, and PowerBuilder.
Headquartered in Emeryville, California, US, Sybase is one of the largest global independent software companies. The company focuses especially on Enterprise Portal solutions, which give businesses the ability to convert stored data into useful information, which can be organized, integrated, and personalized.
Actional is backed by NeoCarta Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, International Capital Partners and a select group of private investors.
