Two top brass bring polish to iXL

iXL has announced the appointment of Michael Casey as executive vice president and chief financial officer. As CFO, Casey, 37, will be responsible for the financial management, treasury, credit, risk management and investor relations functions. Casey brings over 15 years of diverse expertise to iXL, including eight years as a senior financial officer with publicly traded firms and two successful initial public offerings. He will report directly to Bill Nussey, CEO.

Most recently, Casey served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of RedCelsius, an early-stage developer of electronic commerce and customer relationship management software applications. Casey was also treasurer for Manhattan Associates, where he led the company throughout a period of rapid growth and an initial public offering.

Previously, Casey served as vice president, Finance for IQ Software Corporation, a developer of business intelligence software applications. He launched his financial career with Arthur Andersen LLP where he served the technology and communications industries.

Theodore Browne II also joins iXL as senior vice president and general counsel. Browne, 46, will oversee legal management, general corporate, securities law and legal compliance. He also reports to Nussey.

Browne was most recently deputy general counsel for Olin Corporation, where he was the lead attorney responsible for all legal matters for Olin’s Brass and Winchester divisions with annual revenues of approximately $1.1 billion. As executive vice president for Charter Communications, Browne was involved with acquisitions of $2 billion that resulted in Charter becoming one of the largest US cable television companies. Browne earned a BA in Political Science and Sociology, graduating magna cum laude from Cornell College, and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
