UK CRM outsourcer Vertex has appointed Mark Walker as CRM practice manager, responsible for providing solutions to customers.

Walker joins Vertex from Siemens, where he was business development manager for call centre and CRM solutions. Previously he has held sales and marketing roles in the IT services and large systems sectors.

Tom Drury, Vertex managing director said: “Mark’s experience will be vital as we continue to move towards flotation.” Vertex recently signed a 7-year outsourcing contract worth $506 million to provide customer services activities to Eastern Energy, part of Texas Utilities.

Every year Vertex handles around 14 million client customers, over 110 million calls, prints and dispatches 36 million documents and processes 93 million payment transactions.

Clients include NorthWest Water, Norweb Energi, Eastern Energy, Littlewoods Bet Direct, the London Borough of Ealing and Cable & Wireless. In addition, the company is operating a number of pilot call centres on behalf of blue chip clients in the financial services and home-shopping sector.
