I am seeking a relatively short and sufficiently broad definition of a 'campaign' in the CRM contact centre space. Simon Wilson
Campaign management has been a venerable part of the database marketing world for over 20 + years. Relationship marketing, relationship management, customer management, and CRM are all newcomers compared to campaign management. And by the way your version of campaign will be inaccurate as campaign can be blunderbuss mailshots, sniper (on on one) shots to web personilsation.Unless this is really you rown personal view and a bit of fun!?
Read some of the stuff on this website and it may change your mind abour creating yet another four letter word that has little meaning ouside of yourself and som of the the CRM fraternity.
Put campaign management into a web search engine for real enlightenment - from politics to marketing to warfare - please don't let loose this new child into the very crowded acronym world.
Pardon the title line but I'm going to try to "CRaM" my definition of CRM and Campaign in one line:
"Any activity that seeks to ascertain, gain and/or retain Customers through personalization (in any medium) of such is a CRM campaign"
Hey, it even rhymes! :) I know, it can be such a "crampaign" in the arse[***] (",)
