Fiserv Securities has launched a partnership with w-Trade Technologies, a provider of mobile business applications, that will allow the clearing firm to offer wireless trading services.
w-Trade Technologies, which pioneered wireless trading in 1998, has already begun implementing its w-Trade Wireless Trading System with several Fiserv Securities clients.
Clients of Fiserv Securities will be able to offer wireless securities trading to their customers, allowing them to buy and sell stocks; receive quotes, news and financial information; track their portfolios; and receive user- or broker-set stock alerts and order confirmations on virtually any hand-held device.
“We’re extremely pleased to be working with w-Trade Technologies, a company whose products are already widely used throughout the financial services industry and with a number of our clients,” said Lawrence Donato, CEO of Fiserv. “Our clients expect us to deliver state-of-the-art products and exceptional service. Being able to offer and support wireless services gives them greater access to their customer. That access translates into an advantage for everyone.”
“Fiserv Securities has always possessed a strong commitment to technology and we are very excited to be working with a company that believes in offering its customers the most advanced solutions available,” said Donna Oliva, CEO of w-TT. “This partnership will allow Fiserv Securities clients to offer their customers a service that’s quickly becoming a necessity in the brokerage community, both here and abroad.”
Founded in 1997, w-Trade Technologies Inc. introduced mobile commerce to the world when it released the first of its wireless application products more than two years ago.
