Online travel leader Travelocity.com has selected NCR’s Teradata Active Warehouse to capture and analyze online data.
Travelocity.com’s active data warehouse, expected to reach one terabyte in size, can now get answers to questions previously considered impossible.
"Our business is increasingly data intense and relationship dependent," said Mike Stacy, senior vice president of consumer marketing for Travelocity.com. "We plan to create a personalized online travel service, and needed a strong foundation. We found that in Teradata."
Travelocity.com web site, provides reservations for 95 percent of all airline seats sold, more than 47,000 hotels, more than 50 car rental companies and more than 5,000 vacation and cruise packages. This reservations capability is paired with access to a vast database of destination and interest information. To date, Travelocity.com has sold more than 6 million airline tickets and has more than 17 million members.
NCR’s other e-business customers using Teradata Active Warehouses to enhance customer relationships include E*Trade, MatchLogic, Macys.com, and MicroStrategy.
