Document management is fundamental to modern CRM/marketing success, as well as to meet current regulatory compliance structures. In today’s business and public sector environment, document management is no longer a simple matter of ‘archive and retrieve’. Nowadays, document management is a matter of monitoring, managing and controlling the whole lifecycle of each document, embedded within the business processes which that document helps to support. During the lifecycle of a typical document, it will pass between several people, usually vendor, channel and customer. It is the ability to keep track of documents and their associated information (content/customer/channel/product/etc) that enables an organisation to manage customer communications effectively.
