According to a report into mobile phone use from Continental Research, the texting phenomenon is booming, with 284 million SMS (short message service) messages being sent each week in the UK. As the market stands, this would amount to 1.2 billion per month and 14.7 billion a year. Sending sexy messages is top of the agenda for the nation's texters, with 71 million "flirty and romantic" messages whizzing around each week. 63 million jokes are forwarded, and 60 million messages are sent to make social arrangements.
