SAP is looking to tap into the increasing demand for mobile and on-demand business solutions by unveiling a Business ByDesign mobile application that is available on the Apple iTunes store.
Designed specifically for small to midsized businesses, the free SAP Business ByDesign mobile app for the iPhone provides customers with real-time data to run businesses with a mobile workforce.
The application is available for free to all customers of feature pack 2.5 for SAP Business ByDesign.
"Customers today have to run real-time businesses with a mobile workforce that needs to quickly make decisions no matter where they are," said Peter Lorenz, executive vice president, Small and Midsize Enterprises, and corporate officer at SAP AG. "This mobile app for SAP Business ByDesign is an integral step in delivering greater value for all users and expanding our on-demand business."
The app is principally designed for management and sales roles, enabling the instant approval, rejection or forwarding of items that require immediate attention, such as price lists or payment approvals, as well as mobile lead and opportunity management, and account and activity management.
SAP is already planning for the next iteration to not only support other mobile devices such as BlackBerry and Android, but also aim to enable partners to create supplemental content, which can then become an incremental part of the application.
