Yammer monitors employee emotions with Crane integration

Yammer has teamed up with emotion analysis company Kanjoya  to help organisations monitor employee’s attitudes based on their Yammer posts.

Kanjoya's Crane analytics dashboard will leverage Yammer's open APIs to retrieve information from Yammer groups and the overall company network, allowing organisations to gauge staff emtions.

The analytics solution includes a sentiment graph, keyword search, word cloud and influencer analysis.

For example, when an HR manager announces a change to her company's health benefits, she can view the Crane analytics dashboard to gain insight into employees' responses, the firm said in a statement.

Jim Patterson, CPO at Yammer, said: “We are excited to be partnering with Kanjoya to offer an additional layer of analytics to our customers who are eager to gain deeper awareness and understanding of the discussions happening in their Yammer networks.

“By enabling this integration, Yammer customers will be able to recognize when something has affected employees either positively or negatively – and take action.”

Armen Berjikly, founder and CEO at Kanjoya, said: “Crane's Analytic dashboard for Yammer provides GS1 Australia with more than the number of Yammer conversations; it provides a window into how our employees are feeling about activities and events occurring within our organisation.”

The integration is available from today for all Yammer Enterprise customers but requires a Crane account.

Microsoft acquired Yammer in June in a deal worth $1.2bn.
