Software awards voting begins

Software Satisfaction Awards 2008 Voting has started this week on the software awards that matter most - the Software Satisfaction Awards 2008.

Organised by's parent group Sift Media and CCH, the Software Satisfaction Awards set out to honour those software developers and resellers who do the most to keep their customers happy every year. Nearly 2,000 people voted in 19 categories last year - and we need your help to make the awards bigger and better this year.

Anyone who uses a business application is entitled to take part in the online survey, which asks about programs for customer relationship management, accounting and finance, HR and training.

More than 900 people voted in the people and payroll categories for last year's Software Satisfaction Awards, but to ensure that the full sweep of the industry is represented, we need as many members as possible to take part. was the big winner at last year's event, scooping two of the CRM awards. Around 350 attendees at The Brewery witnessed the software as a service player snap up the On-Demand CRM award despite strong competition from and NetSuite. The company then topped off a great night by also grabbing the Small Business CRM award ahead of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Sage 50 ACT!

Elsewhere, SAP CRM snatched the Mid Range CRM award from fellow nominees Pivotal CRM and And in the On-Premise CRM category, Sage CRM took the spoils ahead of Maximizer Enterprise and Frontrange Goldmine.

It's an eventful industry at present, and has reported on consolidation, fragmentation, platform wars and the continuing drive towards software as a service. Your votes will help us find out how this activity affects the people who use these applications.

The results are published online and in a Software Satisfaction Annual that provides valuable information for prospective software buyers (8.5MB PDF download).
