SAP is continuing in its bid to package up its software into easier-to-implement bundles by releasing so-called ‘Rapid Deployment’ offerings that will focus initially on the CRM space.
The move follows the unveiling of the first in a family of off-the-shelf vertical market and line-of-business analytics applications based on its BusinessObjects’ acquisition earlier this month.
SAP claimed that the Rapid Deployment bundles, which are aimed at meeting specific line-of-business requirements in areas such as sales, marketing, procurement, customer service and call centre operations, could be implemented in as little as 12 weeks at a fixed price.
Robert Viehmann, the vendor’s senior vice president of solution assembly and packaging, said: "Customers now have a tried-and-tested, low-cost way to quickly address their most pressing business demands without compromises in terms of adding new features as needs evolve."
The first bundles are based on its Business Suite applications for CRM and supplier relationship management. But other offerings are scheduled to be rolled out over the next year across a range of industries covering areas such as manufacturing, mobility, recruitment, supply chain, sustainability and treasury functions.
On the CRM side, SAP has introduced a bundle for sales, service, and marketing functions as well as a ‘Business Communication Management’ offering for inbound contact centre management.
